Rockville Town Square
Developers updated the Rockville downtown with a new 339,000 SF five-story mixed use retail and residential building with a clad brick veneer exterior and flat roof. SWSG structural engineers provided cold-formed steel design for the exterior wall facade. The exterior walls were framed in cold-formed steel to carry both wind and axial loads. The interior walls were axial load-bearing and carried a Hambro Joist concrete floor system. The lateral wind loads of the upper portion of the building were carried by light gauge steel shear walls designed by SWSG.
Promenade at National Harbor
SWSG structural engineers designed the cold-formed steel exterior wall, soffit, and parapet system for this building at the National Harbor. The design included framing at wall openings and curved ceiling at the walk-through area.
