Ben Lomond Master Plan

Manassas, VA

SWSG prepared a site master plan for the development of parking, trails, and storm water management. Management zones were established to protect resources: heritage resource protection zone, community resource zone, and entrance zone. Historical research identified areas at the site that have a high potential for archaeological significance and protected these areas. SWSG conducted a public presentation of the proposed master plan, and solicited public comment.  Roofs were replaced on multiple structures for preservation, code compliance, and historic look and feel.

Ben Lomond Civil War Medicine Museum Interpretive Plan

Manassas, VA

Prince William County contracted with SWSG to research the medical history surrounding the Battle of First Manassas in preparation of an interpretive plan to be utilized at Ben Lomond Historic Site during the sesquicentennial anniversary of the battle. The Ben Lomond house is a significant historic resource due to its use as a Confederate field hospital. SWSG provided historical architectural, architectural and engineering services for the Medical History report and Interpretive Plan.
