Green Spring Adaptive Re-use Rehabilitation
In partnership with C. Richard Bierce, rehabilitation plans were prepared to adapt the home for museum and office use. Exterior restoration, major structural repairs, foundation and roof repairs, and new mechanical and electrical systems were included in the scope of work. A foundation drain was installed around the perimeter of the house.
SWSG prepared a feasibility study and schematic design for the rehabilitation of a hollow-tile barn for use as public office space and community use. Code analyses, including ADA, were conducted. The schematic design retains key historical features. A Historic Preservation Certificate Application was prepared. The National Park Service preliminarily determined that the barn met the National Register criteria.
