George Mason University Student Union Building 1 Addition & Northwest Housing
Fairfax, VA
SWSG provided structural engineering for cold-formed steel exterior framing of a four-story 65,000 SF addition to the Student Union Building. Services included plan layouts, sections, connections, headers, sills, jamb studs, and calculations. In addition, SWSG provided cold-formed design for exterior framing for walls and non-truss framed roof areas of two seven-story residential northwest housing units.

SWSG provided structural engineering services for cold-formed steel of exterior and interior framing for a new 720,000 SF multi-level sports arena building (150 feet high). Innovative changes to the exterior were made to wall studs to convert them to trusses which allowed elimination of costly steel intermediate support posts.
