Peerless Rockville Award 2012: Rockville Senior Fitness Center Addition

Peerless Rockville recognized the City of Rockville and SWSG for excellence in the design and construction of a major addition to the Rockville Senior Center. The 20,000 SF renovation and expansion included additional space for fitness equipment, exercise areas, and locker rooms. The addition was designed to fit harmoniously into the existing surroundings without significant tree removal or change to the park-like feel of the property.

Berkeley County Operations Center

MARTINSBURG, WV – Berkeley County Water Authority has selected a general contractor for the construction of a new facility designed by SWSG to meet LEED certification requirements. This multi-complex facility will consist of administrative and operational offices, customer service center, vehicle maintenance facility, material storage yard, employee break rooms and outdoor areas. Construction completion is slated for early 2014.

 

Mobile Central Office & Data Center

Mobile, AL – SWSG provided turn-key design and construction management services for this 20,000 SF Mobile Switch Center build-out inside an existing shell warehouse. This project included a dedicated CRAC system for the data center, N+1 generators, distributed DC plant, cable racking, grounding, high-density cooling system, power room, secure equipment yard, fiber routes, new electric service, offices, control room, LAN room, loading space, HVAC, building automation system controls, fire suppression systems, main water & sewer services, extensive structural modifications, and plumbing.

CFSEI Award for Innovative Design: Pittsburgh Piatt Place Apartments

Pittsburgh, PA – SWSG provided structural engineering services for the design of shear walls, load-bearing walls, and floor/roof joists with cold-form steel to convert a 4-story retail building into a 7-story residential condominium. Floors were designed as diaphragms to transfer lateral loads to inwardly located shear walls so exterior walls could be fitted with the maximum amount of windows. SWSG received an award for Innovative Design from the Cold-Formed Steel Engineers Institute.
